Snow Patrol will be live in your living room (if that's where your PC is) this Friday, courtesy of Fabchannel (no, us neither).

The band's sold-out show at the Paradiso in Amsterdam will be screened for free. For more information, follow this direct link.

DiScuss: With the technology so readily available, and the costs so relatively low, shouldn't more bands screen live performances, for nothing, over the internet? Maybe Glasto should screen everything online for nowt to appease all those people that spent eight hours on a phone only to miss out on tickets?

glasto online would be great ... the BBC has cameras littering the place up anyway, why not put the to good use and have coverage where you can choose which stage to watch etc.

also, saw snow patrol supporting grandaddy last year . . . not the most exciting live band, decent songs jus not that exciting

There was a kind of alternative Glastonbury on the Internet, during the last break in 2001. With the way broadband has taken off since, more could be made of this next year!

Fab Channel is amazing. Every band that play at the Paradiso have their set put live on the internet for free... is a great concept and the woman who runs the plus is damn cool to boot!

Anything filmed by the BBC is retained by the BBC, but yes; with the stuff 'physically' being filmed it's certainly a fantastic way to appease those unlucky enough to miss out on tickets.

What I suggest people do is draw up some kind of petition to send to the BBC to get them to think seriously about proper 24 hour broadcasts online. It would certainly appease those who are a bit pissed off at the amount that the Beeb wastes on supposedly 'public serving' internet sites!

I think the Beeb should skip the web. I read somewhere that for Muse and Macca's performances at the last glasto, more people watched bbc3 than at any other time. maybe they should have as an option that you can watch the whole thing on bbc3 by pushing red and you can select your stage. far better quality than on the internet.
