No fair! We wanna go to the Fuck Yeah Fest...

Seriously, I am pissed off this summer. Every week, it seems, I see another American festival with a line-up so pant-wettingly brilliant I have to down eight cups of water a minute just to keep up with my own urinating.

The latest three-day event happening over there - sadly too far from here for the DiS massive to make an appearance (unless organisers can afford three air fares?) - to get me all messy is the Fuck Yeah Fest, or the F Yeah Fest (dang censors), held in Los Angeles. It takes place this weekend - August 18-20 - and the line-up features...

Dead Meadow, Giant Drag (pictured), The Ponys, Circle Jerks, Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower, Envy, The Icarus Line, Gris Gris, Erase Errata, Blood Meridian, Horse The Band, Burning Brides, The Thermals, Subtitle, No Age, Midnight Movies, Shapes And Sizes... I could go on, but these pants are already saturated.

The festival - held at three different venues - is curated by Circle Jerks and Black Flag's Keith Morris. There's art and comedy, too.

Should any lucky bastard be in LA right now, more information can be found here.

i am actually crying.

this is so unfair.

wow

that is an amazing line up! im jealous...

Sorry,

but that line-up looks like the festival line-up equivalent of AIDS.

haven't the icarus line split up?

if not, then WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

rubbish analogy

just say you don't like it if you can't think of anything witty.

that is all.

Well its not a rubbish analogy is it,

really...my comparison makes it clear what i think. Hence the analogy was highly effective.

THAT is all.

nope

new album = imminent.

oh my god

does that mean they might tour. oh dear gods.

well

i got the vague sense that you didn't like it, but the point of an analogy here is either to be witty and/or amusing, or to give a greater sense of why/how much/in what way you don't like it.

which the whole AIDS thing failed to achieve.

come now, explain the greater depth of imagery and meaning brought to your statement by the AIDS analogy so i don't get confused again...

OK, here goes...

I can imagine that having AIDS is really bad. Most of the bands on the line-up (the ones i've heard/seen at least) are really bad. By watching them i'd feel like i'd wasted my time. It's no secret that those suffering from a terminal illness experience feelings of regret at having not made the most out of their life, at least initially - thus a comparison exists here also. Furthermore, one would obviously never carry out an action with the intention of contracting AIDS and I would never intentionally attend a festival with this line-up. Obviously if it was staged in my front room without my prior knowledge or permission and i woke up one morning to find it in full swing then my experiencing it would have been involuntary/unintentional as is the contraction of AIDS/HIV.

I won't give u so much credit next time, my apologies.
