Les Savy Fav working on new record

Pitchfork has reported that NYC party-rockers Les Savy Fav are beavering away at a new album, the eventual follow-up to their Go Forth long-player of, like, YEARS AGO. I'm not counting Inches as a proper album, yo.
The band's bassist, Syd Butler, talked exclusively to the US indie site (link) about the four-piece's current movements of the non-bowel variety.
"We've started practising, and we have time booked in a studio in three weeks. We'll be recording it with Chris Zane at Gigantic Studios, and then hopefully it'll come out in the spring by SXSW time.
"We're still trying to decide what it's going to sound like. Is it gonna be a balls-out rock record or is it gonna have some of the more quiet stuff?"
Balls-out rock, please. The new record effectively calls time on the band's Rabbit Trancing release, the rumoured collection of studio odds and sods. None of the material slated for said release will feature on the as-yet-untitled fourth long-player.
As if to assure us often disappointed LSF fans - Go Forth was sooooo long ago (2001 since you asked) - Butler told Pitchfork that the record will happen. No, really...
"This is definitely gonna happen. We don't want people to think we're aloof or pulling someone's leg. We've booked the time. We know that we're going in November to record it, and we're freaking out and really excited about it."

This is amazing news.
And yeah, live they're easily one of the best bands ever.
I don't think anything could make me as happy as this news has.
Actually, a new Fugazi album would but for now at least we can look forward to Joe Lally's solo LP in October.
BEST LIVE BAND EVER. NOTFICTION.
..
Agreed!
They made me want to cry at ATP. Dance more but cry to. I saw alot of similar reactions..
There is a downside to this, being that people just dont believe me. As they dont tour very often I cant exactly prove it either. So I have alot of those frustrated 'no really' type of conversations.
Hum.
Yawn Yawn Yawn
...tune of plenty.
finally!
We will have to wait until spring 2007 however. And, yeah, Fugazi really need to make an album and tour as well. I discovered them too late to ever have seen them.
Fantastic live band
possibly ever, although depends what you want from a live band I s'pose. They were awesome last year - although why did the turdy 'Weird War' headline? I just wish the bloke whose video camera Tim Harrington was swinging around would post the footage on Youtube.
I'll tell you something though - 'Sweat Descends' is possibly the best party tune ever, non?
my search goes on...
....to find a band that can top LSF antics at lane way festival in sydney...
i challenge a band to top abseiling down a 15 foot wall using the mic cable
ha !
yeah that was a real mystery! Managed to fit my best and worst gigs of the year into one. Still, we thought we'd be clever and leave after weird war's first song. Unfortunately we weren't the only ones and there was already a huge queue of people waiting to get their coats and flee the venue...
AGREED! All of Inches...
is a fucking party album! They all make me want to dance like a mandrill with a cartridge of liquid nitrogen in it's rectum! And I'm a 25 year-old lanky twat who can't dance to save his life! That's how inconcievably danceable LSF songs are.
