A Young man's game: Glastonbury Diary 2009, Friday
Part two of DiS's monolithic attempt to process the UK's biggest fest. Part one can be found here --- Wake up at the blessedly late hour of 11am to the steady clip clop of a mild downpour, which gives up the ghost around noon. Though there were some oth»
Glastonbury In Photos: Bat For Lashes
If there was an algorithm for the perfect Glastonbury artist, then Natasha Khan with her glorious electronic folk-pop swoopiness, shark-jumping fashion sense, Mazzy-Star-meets-Yeasayer lushness and ancient-India-via-the-Brooklyn-Apple-store choice of instruments go beyond perfect Glasto fodder. Her set on the Other stage was one of the highlights of the weekend... and yes, that is Charlotte Hatherley, formerly of Ash, in her band. Glastonbury In Photos: Yeah Yeah Yeahs
In her test-screen coloured American Indian head dress and Geisha-ish cape, Karen O went beyond any Alien-chic look Bjork or Ms. Moss could ever hope to bring to Glastonbury. Standing before a giant eye ball backdrop, the otherworldly Queen of alt/indie-rock yelped, writhed and curtsied to the crowd's demons. Meanwhile, Nick Zinner expelled melodious walls of technicolor noise and Dave Pajo's key taps zapped a new aesthetic into Brian Chase's utterly under-rated drumming. And the result? Well, yuhknow, it was something like the phenomenon we've come to expect from New York's finest hipster slayers. "A genuine Glastonbury moment" as Jo Whiley would say. Glastonbury In Photos: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Before Blur rolled onto the main stage of Glastonbury, Nick Cave & Co. got their filthy blues out. DiS managed to capture some of the energy and darkness-in-the-daylight that unfolded. Click here for more Glastonbury coverage and Photos.»
Glastonbury In Photos: Blur
Blur utterly stole the show at this year's Glastonbury, they were so good in fact that it seemed at one point as if viewers were going to die of a Whi-perbolic attack or at the very least Zane Lowe was going to stab Ms Whiley. You've probably seen it but if not Graham Coxon quite possibly stole the show with his distorted guitar genius, whilst Damon Albarn in his Fred Perry was more sprightly than expected, Alex James rock a cig and (a plumper than we remember) Dave Rowntree bashed away at the b-b-back. Glastonbury Diary 2009: Thursday
The morning commences with a light spot of rain, a mild grumble that the Guardian’s Guide includes no details of today’s bill (we’re continually a bit vague on what the exact legal status of this is – info about Thursday is remarkably hard to come by, to the extent we wonder if there’s something weird with the license), and a last connection to the internet on phone before monstrous veil of static descends (conspiracy theory #1 – festival sponsors Orange were SABOTAGING O2), which reveals the horrible news that Steven Wells has died. The first of several weird shocks this weekend, though sadly one of the more overlooked ones.»

Glastonbury In Photos: Lady Gaga
We've had various requests for more shots of the highlights of Glastonbury and rest assured there are plenty more coming when our guys are back from, er, the field. For now, we hope that Lady Gaga fans will be happy to see a few more of her (surprisingly) universally praised set from Friday night. She looks a little like The Knife performing in the Thunderdome, doesn't she? You can see video of this set over on the BBC site here. For more photos and Glastonbury content click here.»

Glastonbury from afar (a sofa) - A DiS Guide to Online & TV Coverage
We're guessing if you're reading this from the comfort of your sofa, maybe with your feet up, BBC 6Music pumping in the background and Wimbledon flickering in the corner of your eye. Here's our guide of how best to digest Glastonbury from the comfort of your living room this weekend.»

Glastonbury 2009: DiS briefly shuts up, bands have their say
As you're doubtless getting bored/angry with the reams of subjective blather DiS has been throwing up over the UK's flagship festival, our mini Glastonbury preview week today hands the metaphorical mic to a selection of people who, er, know how to use a real one. All performing at the festival this year, Maximo Park's Paul Smith, Fucked Up's Damian Abraham, Emmy The Great and Broken Records' Ian Turnbull have all gallantly turned their little grey cells to pondering the meaning of the modern Glastonbury Festival.»

DiScuss: So this 'Glastonbury' thing, eh..?
In celebration of managing to wheedle Glasto review tickets and a photopass for the first time (oh, and also it being one of the biggest musical and cultural events in the British calender), DiS is having a wee Glastonbury week this week, in advance of everybody actually going buggering off next Wednesday. We kick off with a ponder over what the festival is meant to mean to the average indie kid in 2009.»
Glastonbury 2007: Sean's Blog - Day 1
DiS's Sean Adams tells his own tale of Glastonbury 2007 - from the backstage to the moshpit and right up to the stars - in three parts. Here, he finds Björk magical, the Monkeys rather muted, and Martha on song...»
Noel Gallagher: 'I'm not having hip-hop at Glastonbury' and other luddite sense
After all the conjecture back and forth, it’s good to finally have someone wade in and take the situation by the scruff of the neck: let’s face it, hip-hop and Glastonbury make about as much sense as mixed-race marriages and that Aerosmith/Run DMC collaboration»
The Weekly DiScussion: has Glastonbury's bubble burst?
For the first time in aaages, the Glastonbury Festival didn't sell out in approximately thirteen seconds. So, what's gone wrong? Nothing? Something? Rapping? Let's DiScuss, yeah»
Glastonbury '07: three DiSsers, some booze and hella mud...
It serves them right to suffer. While some of us sat scratching our arses from the comfort of our living rooms, occasionally pushing the red button to keep Jo Whiley at bay, some idiots actually went to Glastonbury. But we're not bitter. No. It would have been nice to have an invite, but that's all history now. Here, DiS’s Ben Patashnik, Joshua Cole and Georgina Terry attempt to fashion coherent narratives from their weekends of mud-soaked madness…»
The Weekly DiScussion: is Glastonbury really the greatest show on Earth?
Best festival in the world? Life-changing experience? The epicentre of the British counter-culture? Gareth Dobson can't wait for Glastonbury to come around again this year, so much so, he's polled the office for their best (worst?) memories of the event. And asks in The Weekly DiScussion: why is this festival so brilliant?»
Glastonbury 2004: First Time On The Farm
It was the most amazing weekend of my life. Nothing could have prepared me for the sights and sounds of Glastonbury Festival. Fun is a far too pathetic word to describe our time there, and ‘feeling happy’ falls short by a light year or two...»
