TOO MANY FIREWORKS RECORDS (2mf records) was started by Neil Milton in 2002 to release an E.P. by Lanarkshire art-rockers – troika. The “missing Passport” E.P. was released on January 20th 2002 and gained troika some important radio and live exposure. After the release of the single the label laid dormant for almost a year until the concept of the dialogue singles club series was put together.
The series consists of 6 split 7” single releases each one showcasing two favourites of the label. All tracks in the series are exclusive and won’t be found anywhere else. Dialogue one, the first record in the series was released on 27th January 2003 and featured troika and a Glasgow band named trundle wheel. The second dialogue single was released two months later on 31st March. Dialogue two featured two unsigned bands from Lanarkshire and Greenock respectively. the hector collectors and flying matchstick men helped to make the second record a great success. The series continued and the third in the series followed on the 9th June. This time the record took on a more metal edge with macrocosmica and churn both growling their way through their tracks.
Besides the singles club, too many fireworks is committed to promoting the two bands on the labels roster, troika, and recent acquisitions Flying matchstick men.
