Following on from last week's landmark playlist of much innovation, this week's summing up will also be innovative. Sort of. What I really mean is that it'll be different. Mainly because I'll be trying to sum each song up in as few words as possible. Click here to access this week's edition of Spotifriday and listen away.
1. Cibelle - 'Frankenstein'
Plinky-plonky. Read our interview here.
2. Tunng - 'Hustle'
Harmonious. Read our interview here.
3. Johnny Flynn - 'Sweet William Pt II'
English folk-troubador. Watch our discussion with Mr Flynn talking about Hop Farm and Bob Dylan here.
4. Guided By Voices - 'Watch Me Jumpstart'
Scuzz-pop. Classic line-up reforming and playing Las Vegas later in the year.
5. Interpol - 'Slow Hands'
Not about Eric Clapton. They revealed their album cover and tracklisting for the new album this week.
6. Mystery Jets - 'Hideaway'
Not quite contemporary enough. Read our review of their new record here. It's meant to be quite good.
7. Dios - 'Toss My Cookies'
A jolly good track to cheer up even the most downhearted person. Read the record review of We Are Dios here.
8. Tobacco - 'Sunburned Face'
An apt song title in this weather. Detuned lo-fi folk-blues. Album review here.
9. Devo - 'Please Baby Please'
Well, it's just Devo, ennit? Taken from their new one, which we reviewed here.
10. The Morning Benders - 'Wet Cement'
Crap name. Great song. New album out. [Our verdict on it]
11. The Chap - 'Well Done You'
Silliest band ever. Some of the greatest lyrics ever. We had a little chat with them t'other week.
12. Slow Club - 'Giving Up On Love'
One of the best pop songs ever written. True. Belated KOKO review arrived earlier this week.
13. Ólöf Arnalds - 'Við Og Við'
Icelandic femme-troubador. Accented. Wendy Roby mentioned something intriguing about her in the Weekly Singles Column.
