Ouch, it hurts. Last night Sheffield celebrated DiS' Eighth Birthday with probably our strongest DiScover bill yet: The Week That Was, Cats In Paris and Champion Kickboxer all doing us proud and providing a night of wonderful, ethereal pop. Special mention to Cats In Paris who were delayed on the motorway, arrived at the venue seconds before stage-time and still managed to turn in a jaw-dropping performance. Mad props, too, to Champion Kickboxer (who continue to astound live) and The Week That Was, our best headliner yet according to many of the DiScover faithful. Can Dananananakyroyd claim the title for themselves next month? Be there to find out.
We're going to do it all again tonight, remember, with Wild Beasts at The Deaf Institute in Manchester - your last chance to wish DiS many happy returns. See you at the bar!
DiScuss: were you there last night? Did you enjoy it as much as we did? Going to Wild Beasts tonight? How many tequilas is too many?

Cats in Paris were the best act there
And second, Danananana will rip it up next month. They WILL take the crown of best DiS live act. Can't wait to see them in The Harley. Its the perfect venue :)
That's Me!!

Plus Pulled Apart By Horses... that's going to be quite a night!
Excellent, I'm glad it's actually a DiSser
Did you have a good night? As for the prize, you'll have to wait and see ;)
Yeah
it was awesome, twtw were really great! I'm from the north east so it was like a little homecoming seeing everyone from different north east bands playing together, and the field music song as the encore made my day!
Cats in Paris were rather good, never heard them before.
The Week That Was were just incredible though, absolutely spot on. The Field Music track was amazing, better than I've ever heard them play it before.
Also, Peter Brewis looks a bit like Ricky Hatton, don't you think?
