The Brudenell Social Club in Leeds was a pretty emotional place to be on Friday night: local heroes and longtime DiS favourites ¡Forward Russia! played their last show "for the foreseeable future" at the Brainwash Festival. Our man Graham Shackleton was there to document the proceedings with his trusty lens. While he was at it, he also snapped those noisy little tykes Rolo Tomassi over at Royal Park Cellars. Bonus!

I was there for both these bands

nursing a few injuries from the Rolo Tomassi Manchester gig a few days earlier

It was a good send off for iFR!

This festival was a fantastic showcase and I came away with about 15 CDs.

I liked the way you could go from one performance straight onto the next, and such an eclectic mix - from indie folk to Japanese thrash.

I really enjoyed Glissando, Lite, Greg Haines, Vessels & Winter North Atlantic. Sorry I missed These Monsters - I met one of the band in Jumbo recordstore on Sunday.
