In photos: Eugene McGuinness @ DiScover Sheffield
It's Fresher's Week in Sheffield, there's an entire army of new students looking for somewhere to party. So what does DiS do? We lay on a couple of acoustic-led folk acts and a one-man band (plus drummer), of course. And they did us proud: Eugene McGuinness proved himself a cultured songsmith par excellence, Jonjo Feather had us all captivated with his gravity-defying barnet and ace rock 'n' roll, while Pocket Satellite proved why they're one of Sheffield's loveliest little secrets. Then we all got drunk while the Tender Maulings DJs dropped killer tunes until well past closing time.
Get yourself down next month, October 27, for more fun times with The Week That Was, Cats In Paris and Champion Kickboxer - it's DiS' 8th Birthday, come and celebrate with us!

he was good.
better
than a Freshers clubnight! Eugene was brilliant
Is that a SNES?
Right on
I'm increasingly becoming a fan of Eugene McGuiness
but nonetheless feel this series of pictures reveal the fundamental problems of photographing acoustic singer-songwriters in performance in terms of the lack of variety between them.
