DiS' Class Of 2009 #3: Women
That's
a pretty intersting setlist.
I'm actually pretty glad to see 'Until It Sleeps' and 'Frantic' in there.
utter shit
this band are fucking terrible.
the amount of shit dis gives other bands i think it's embarrassing that this concert and this band are being giving column inches.
Hurrah!
amongst all the hysteria, i really thought i was the only one who has such utter disdain for this band.
Metallica fans...
the ultimate "not getting the no band t-shirt at their own gigs" rule?
i would
have to agree with the above statement.
There are exceptions.
Metallica and Iron Maiden are two.
jesus
my two year old whines less than you.
Metallica happens to be popular. Get over it.
The amount of people holding up camera phones in that third photo saddens me.
Rock'n'roll! *click*
Wouldn't you...
After nearly 30 years of hard rocking, touring, drink, drugs and being BBQ's by pyro???
I think he look good for his 45.
BBQ'd*
Oh, and that 'no t-shirts' at bands gigs is everything that is wrong with music fans these days.
2 observations
1-hetfield looks like he's wearing pink trousers in the fourth shot
2-hetfield looks like bigfoot from harry and the hendersons
Well....
at one point Hetfield said something along the lines of "call your mummy's later, youtube won't make you famous" - so I have read...
popular...
i dont care about that, that is fine.
just that i thought dis had better taste.
James Hetfield = Tom Waits?
Is it just me..?
Nope..
I've thought that for a while...

Hetfield's words were:
"I've just got top say something man... put the fucking cameras away, put your phones away. Let's enjoy the Metal show okay? You can call your mum later alright... a little two second blur of some shitty Metallica on YouTube is not going to make you famous. Enjoy this moment alright."
Dude, he is old.
Old people look old.
there are no photos
where they're not pulling hilarious / brilliant "GRRR WE ARE METAL" faces.
that is genius
despite my previous post
he must miss...
They days of everyone with devil horns, leaning over the barrier with beer and god knows what flying everywhere...
People spend too much time looking through their phones to really enjoy it.
MA LIFESTYLE DETERMINES MA DEATHSTYLLEEE
What a douche.
You not got bored...
Of posting these lyrics yet?
aaaaaand
what's more. it is aptly true.
Poor
bass player hardly gets a look in here. Bless.
Brilliant photos!
A few could've been left on the cutting room floor but these are amazing photos of the gig for those who couldn't make it. Interesting setlist as well. The thing about this band is they really put the effort in every show, you can see it in their faces in the photos. Unfashionable round some parts..
DiS = Great Music
Taste = Ya Mama's choice of soft furnishings.
There are other members of Metallica you know...
Good photos, BUT: I think the photographer / photo editor must be in love with Kirk and James - there's ONE photo with Rob in it, and only one where you can see Lars' face.
There are other members of Metallica you know! Jesus!
where are the amps?
I like the show being in the middle, surrounded by the crowd, but I was looking at the pictures and wondering where the amps were? Are they under the stage or something? Obv having them onstage would block folks view with that set up. Anyone who was there care to enlighten me? Cheers!
this gig has been given a few articles
but it was afterall a big gig at the o2 by a band who could sell tickets for £40+ instead of £5, and who in less than a week got to number one in the album chart above glassvegas, who have far more articles about them. get over it.
DiS is a popular music website
just because you don't like 'Tallica, doesn't mean they have bad taste, there are plenty of other people who do love them, get of you high taste horse and move along!
there were two lines of about 4 cabs side by side either side of the drum kit
with another set backed on to them. these went into the house PA above the center of the arena
so accross the center of the stage...
facing this way ^^^

as i said the drums were on a turn table and moved 90 degrees after every 3 or 4 songs
not having heard much metallica
I can't imagine what this must've sounded like. But strangely enough, as I see those photos, all I can hear in my head is Toto's 'Hold The Line'. Just imagine it for yourself for a minute.
No matter how much this band suck
as they certainly do now, I still have a place in my heart for them. Everything up to and including the black album is absolute genre-defining genius.
Shame about the rest. Even the new stuff isn't up to much.
Also Guntrip lookalike
in the bottom left corner of photo 12.
:D
the irony is
you can probably find a clip of him saying that on Youtube
I saw a Metallica FAMILY at Waterloo yesterday lunch
T shirts went as follows
Ma: Master of Puppets T shirt
Pa: Generic Metallica T shirt
Boy: (think) it was And Justice for All t shirt
Girl: Generic Metallica T shirt

Nice pictures
Wish I had been there.
fuck off
'tallica are terrible, fucking dog shit. terrible lyrics, terrible musically, just terrible in every sense. a bloody awful mtv reality sitcom cliche of a band now.
i'm just surprised that dis have given it so much attention.
you'd all be moaning if dis did a "photo special" of coldplay's london return, or the police,....and these bands have far more merit that metallica pile of cliche'd dog shit.
MY PROBLEM IS NOT THTA THEY ARE POPULAR IT IS THAT THEY ARE A JOKE....AS ARE ALL OF THEIR FANS.
fuck off all of you.
you are all idiots.
