In Photos special: The Great Escape 2008

DiS didn’t just have a crack team of pen-brandishing scribes on the loose in Brighton for this year’s The Great Escape (May 15-17), oh no; additionally, super-shooter Holly Erskine was on hand to capture the action as it happened via her zoom-in, zoom-out lens.

Words, are forthcoming; meantime, do enjoy another In Photos special, beaming images of so very many TGE-present bands into your eyeholes.

Great photos

Happy days

alphabeat

in a karaoke bar. best thing ever.

great escape was rubbish

fact.

something to do with the fact that the guy who books the main bands is also the guy who books Jersey live, Guilfest and Glastonbury main stage....

Impossible to get in to the club nights (er..one in one out policy for a venue that when you got let in was not even a third full (see most nights at komedia)////

there were one or two ok shows,

but they were mostly great escape fringe events...

I dunno...

...Had I not been working as well as playing I'd have seen plenty of good things. Friday evening, for about an hour-long period, there was a string of hitz.

Er I got into club nights every night

longest I queued was 45 mins

pivot

i must say i saw pivot supporting gravenhurst and they were rather excellent.

no club is worth queing for 45 minutes in the cold

and an hour of hitz is not worth anything...there was really nothing there that hadnt been available before....

For the amount they were charging forr tickets it was a massive dissapointment....

i mean honestly- that weekend atp or great escape. i rest my case

Really excellent photos

I particularly like the second Esser, Friendly Fires, Ipso Facto and LofTP ones.

15 different flavours of hell

I wouldn't queue for bread in Russia for 45 minutes.

The 1 advantage to a press pass, not having to wait hours for some sub-par brit twaddle.
