Dear Muse,
Shitting crikey! Congratulations on selling out your June 16 show at Wembley Stadium and putting tickets for a second show on sale already (June 17). I remember when I interviewed you in the back room of the Exeter Cavern nearly eight (eight!) years ago you half-joked about aspiring to play Wembley one day, like it was an unobtainable pipedream at the time.
As I'm sure you have bigger things to worry about than support acts, and every band you've ever shared a festival bill with is currently calling you begging, please remember that this show is a real chance to introduce people to new, moving music. I know you know all of this, but I worry that it'll be overlooked that this is a real chance to share music you love with a massive crowd (as well as an opportunity to insert these bands onto mass media platforms, inviting all those spin-offs which have huge repercussions). The last thing we all need is to see Feeder and Ash do a big support gig, again.
What I'm basically - selfishly - saying is: all I'd like for Christmas is for you to put on a bill featuring some of the following acts, most of which I think you'll agree with... And then I can die happy.
MUSE
Tom Waits (a short set concluding with you walking on to 'What's he Building in There?')
Daft Punk
Saul Williams
Phoenix
Metric
Les Savy Fav
The Polyphonic Spree
The Cooper Temple Clause
TV on the Radio
The Roots
The Mars Volta
Deftones
Blood Brothers
Biffy Clyro
Mos Def
Lightning Bolt
Failing some/all of this, can DiS put some of the above on at an all-night aftershow for you? And you pay for the air fares and riders and hotel rooms and tour buses? Great!
Thank you,
Sean xo
PS, well done on making my album of the year.
DiScuss: Can you suggest a better line-up? And what about guests? Tom Morello in a guitar duel with Matt Bellamy playing 'Killing in the Name' as first song in the encore?
Buy tickets for Muse's Wembley show/s here. Watch out for that booking fee!

Sean, that would be an awesome line up
Of corse it will probably just be Ash and Feeder. Maybe The Fratellis and The Feeling thrown in for good measure as well :(
Please send that
I'm hoping it will be some or all of those. All would be amazing, if a little lengthy
It IS Wembley
Would be nice to see a couple of 'big' names and a couple of relatively 'fledgling' acts. I wouldn't complain at any of the above, apart from The Polyphonic Spree...
PS
I notice on those ticket links that there are a few Saturday tickets today - only up in the rafters but better than nowt if anyone has missed out...
where
would they set up?
inside
the centre circle
yeah
I had some of those, well 65Days and Battles in my initial list in my head. But I couldn't write them down while i was in the bath.
I really hope they think about this
it could the the gig of the decade if they put a bit of thought into it. or it could be a disappointment of a day rounded off with a surely excellent Muse show.
Sean: Can you actually send this link to someone at Muse management or their tour agent or whoever deals with booking supports? It MIGHT not have occured to them what a position of power they are in to organise a really special show...
The support line up I want is
Guillemots
The Mars Volta
The Cooper Temple Clause
I reckon The Mars Volta and TCTC would be nigh on perfect supports for Muse.
Guillemots slightly less so, but I just desperately want to see them, and how many other times would you get the chance to see a typewriter solo at Wembley stadium?! :)
Just keep The Noisettes away this time, eh ;)
There's also a fairly lengthy discussion
on the topic of supports over on the MuseLive forums.
They seem to have fairly close links with the label, over things like distribution of bootlegs and the like. I'm sure that what's being said over there won't be going entirely un-noticed.
ah well...
Dinosaur Jr (purely so they can show muse up BIG TIME)
British Sea Power (so i can get in without paying)
Restlesslist (to confuse the fuck out of all the little kiddies)
and damn right - Tom Waits
??
The Polyphonic Spree???
Hell yeah to saul williams!
nah
it would have to be the dressing rooms
beautiful idea...
but;
Waits supporting Muse would be wrong, like when James Brown supported the Chillis, Is God Moses' support act? Hell, no!
Mars Volta were a big steaming pile of self-absorbed wank when i saw them live (and i liked the records they had out then). It was as if they'd decided "Hey, when we play live this stuff would be much better with all of the propulsive kinetic energy removed and replaced with widdly, strung-out solo jams."
i'd remove those and replace with;
let our enemies beware
drumcorps
louise slipperz
braintax
I'm going to see Muse on the 16th
and having Mars Volta supporting would suck for me, I find them so pretentious live and on record, I cannot stand them.
However Metric would be wonderful, and I have a feeling Muse might listen to you on that one, seriously.
