The Paul Epworth curates night

+ I Like Trains
+ DJ Paul Epworth
Kano is one of the brightest hopes for 2005, according to... everyone. The 19 year old from East Ham - real name Kane Robinson - first came to prominence on the flipside to The Street's 'Fit But You Know It' record. His MC version was, frankly, breathtaking. The phrase everyone's using is Grime - the warped take on the ever mutating UK garage scene, but we'll use genius. You've probably heard about this recent 679 records signing - so come see him. One of the BBC's Sounds Of 2005 tips.

Battle; proving that DiS isn't quite ready to abandon it's traditional musical ethos, London's (by the way of the M25) Battle are causing a bit of a fuss for their tight hooks and edgy pop songs; a formula that’s ripe enough to score ‘em a major support with Bloc Party at their impending, already sold-out date at the Kentish Town Forum in March. Full on post-pop majesty as we see it.

I Like Trains; Having invited Leed's epic post-something-or-other horizon searching heroes I Like Trains to play a DiS night the other week, we were so blown away by their near mystic grandeur, we've asked them to come back again. A wonderfully mind enhancing way to begin an evening of eclectic joy

Paul Epworth comes to DiS by way of the most fullsome year any person could had have in 2004. In addition to crafting the Bloc Party and Futureheads records, he's remixed The Streets and produced the first Babyshambles single, as well as working with Maximo Park and The Rakes amongst many others. Celebrating the creation of his new record label Good and Evil, Paul will be playing out his preferred choice in records, whilst dropping in many of his new creations between sets.
