I Like Trains
I Like Trains hail from Leeds and offer the sort of fragile beauty that would melt the most frozen of hearts. The five piece melded together 18 months ago, summised by a love of music ‘progressively English and glacially Icelandic. Live, the band offer natty British Rail outfits (eat your leaves, twigs and heart out, British Sea Power), and a selection of tastefully horrifying disaster movies via a clunking, aged projector. Vision and scope by way of Hope Of The States round the council house for tea.

Action Plan
Coruscating, driving rhythms, mixed with those all-important quiet bits, the BBC reckons ‘They snarl, they spit and they bleed every ounce of rock n roll energy they possess into each live performance. If you're at the front, expect a sweat-filled rainshower to come your way. If you're at the back.........ah
to hell with it, expect the same.’ Comparisions go with the angular beauties currently filling the press pages of the music magazines.

The Miss High 5s
The Miss High 5s are all about hooks. The London four piece excel in the art of perfectly-formed melodic pop-rock, and have an uncanny way with a stellar chorus. They can play a bit too, and we draw comparisions to the likes of Ben Kweller, David Bowie and early Blur. Good, eh?

My hair is mildly shorter than that photograph implies.
I'll also be talking to The Miss High 5s a lot.
And possibly not being sick.

FREE TONIGHT! Brave New Ideas #11 + Loads of amazi
G spot festival(leg one): Bethnal Green Pleasure Unit, all dayer: from 2pm Sat 22nd Jan 2005
GIITTV (www.godisinthetvzine.co.uk)
in association with Rhesus and Foxy Music present a day of the UK’s fittest and hottest new acts playing for you for only 5 English Pounds (With a copy of your profile from our forum) <http://giittv.1.forumer.com/> (6quid without). GIITTV DJs Jared and Bill will play all day in between bands.
The music:
2.30 Sarah Russell; sassy singer song writer from Southend “Sarah Russell was absolutely f*cking unbelievable great singer/songwriter in the vein of pj harvey/liz phair/kristen hersch and completely sidetracked all avril bylines. “GIITTV
3.30 thejessicaquestion: A three piece of epic proportions from the island of Guernsey, just breaking onto the UK scene. Thunderous bass, hellfire drums and stunning vocals to make Conor Oberst wet his already damp underwear. <http://www.thejessicaquestion.com/>
4.30 Piranha Deathray: are a two-shilling knee-trembler of a band founded amidst the crumbling graves and gobbling gargoyles of the cemeteries of Stoke Newington. They sound like something unpleasant happening to someone you love, a private pain inflicted with guitar, double bass and peculiar hair. They are the band of uncles whose knee you didn't fancy sitting on, the disappointed sigh of a non-conformist preacher at the loss of a thousand souls. "No one is making music like Piranha Deathray at the moment" – NME "Seedy as f*ck" - Akira the Don
5.30 1984: Sheffield Punk Poetry set to a Filthy Groove. Sly Stone and the Clash’s Bastard Love Child. Jump on the bandwagon of Truth and Romance.
6.30 Ciccone: Fresh after releasing their debut album 'Eversholt Street', Ciccone will be playing their distinct brand of chaotic catchy rock'n'roll. Previously record of the week on Radio 1, playlisted on XFM, videos on MTV/MTV2/Kerrang! and great reviews in The Fly, Rocksound, Kerrang, Music Week, TNT, The Times, What's On & Guitar Magazine. "As indie rock continues to wallow in a corporate swamp of its own making, bands like Ciccone, with their f*ck-it-we’ll-do-it-ourselves exuberance and patent disregard for trend-chasing, are keeping the spirit of something innocent and purely punk alive."Kerrang Magazine
7.30 The IK+ Cardiffs top pixies esque super group, expect infectuous tunes from the Welsh heroes of alternative. Karate Kills <http://www.theikplus.co.uk/>
8.30 The Fades: With their roots grounded in garage punk, the Fades sound morphs through rock ‘n roll, big beat, psych, ska and heavy metal. Playing gigs throughout the UK and releasing a number of well received singles with help from new indie label; Genepool Records, they have become a well known, critically acclaimed front of the underground scene. www.thefades.com
9.30: Rhesus: Festival curators, if the ruts were a glam band……f*cking savages……a post sonic youth undertones say playlouder, signed to spinach records, single early 2005 It¹s aggression and noise, but they know the difference between making a noise for the sake of it and making a noise to carry a song, absolutely phenomenal say Artrocker…………. www.rhesus.info
10.30 luxembourg: no lucky support slots with the libertines just honest to god hard work and sheer talent and beauty from angular stunners luxembourg. Expect 40 mins of peerless perfection. This band are a must see and their releases a must buy. Be converted. Too much good press to include see www.luxembourgweb.co.uk honoured……..
11.30 The Fallingovers: Chaotic genius, perfect side project of Eddie Argos, Mike Art Brut, Keith Mahoney and Ed Idiot…it gets no bigger……nobody plays like The Fallingovers, nobody even tries…….expect Hennessey………..TOTFP
Midnight- 2pm Pedros, Pinky and Foxy dj from PiL to Parliament via the ramones the boyfriends and AC/DC.
proceeds to Tsunami.
