The collective throng awaiting the much-anticipated return of *Breed 77 *tonight stand nonchalantly at the sides, sipping their over-priced beers sparingly and glumly preparing themselves for another support band they’ve never heard of.
Fronted by Jessi - a blonde girl whose sassy stage persona comes off like *Pink *trapped in the body of *Aimmee Echo *- Finland’s *Velcra *are metal’s best kept secret. Fusing savage razor-sharp riffs with head-thumping dance beats their intense, riotous eclecticism showcases a band not so much pushing the envelope as posting it to another galaxy. Bursting into the hook wielding _‘Not Against Me’ _their electrifying mixture of sounds has just about everyone in the room rooted to the spot in both jaw-dropping amazement and outright reverence.
However the biggest slap round the face is reserved for Jessi’s attention-grabbing stage presence. Don’t let her sweet smile fool you – this girl bites, and she won’t let go until she’s turned you into a nervous, gibbering mess at her complete mercy. As she prowls the stage rolling off sultry slurs to the likes of _‘Tension’ _I swear you could hear the deafening thuds of every guy’s heart punching out of their chests as she locks eyes on them and with an ice-cold sneer, teasing with a flick of her tongue. Bursting into an aggressive tirade of Manhole-era *Tairrie B *raps we see her stamping around her bandmates with the kind of truly kick-ass attitude rarely seen of a female singer, anywhere. In fact many fail to notice their keyboardist dressed in a full gimp suit on the right hand side such his her commanding performance!
As each song ends every male – and most females too – are given a moment to catch their breath, pop their eyes back firmly into their sockets and role their tongues back into their mouths, utterly speechless and possibly a little intimidated at something so unique, so fresh and so… so… well… different. It won't be long before they’re granted the attention they deserve.
So, listen to some MP3s, watch a video and let’s make it happen.
