It was a very bad idea for International Jetset’s lead singer to wear a pair of black PVC trousers when the Monarch’s air conditioning was having a few fits and there were a 150 people standing in a venue the size of a broom cupboard. “I’m auctioning my shorts off when this finishes, anybody who wants a drink just has to wring them out!” Erm….…cheers mate.
Glammed up, camped up, pouting, shimmying (but that might just be the trousers) and head flicking their way through their shouty half hour set they at least give the give the cross-armed audience a performance instead of just staring at their toe-caps.
Whilst I prefer Kool and the Gang’s version of Celebration the best songs are actually performed with Tom The Guitarist on vocals. They seem to be less comedy glam and a bit more….er..sincere? But then “sincere” is a bit Coldplay, and International Jetset are in it for the rock’n’roll kicks.
