Hot Hot Heat

Edit this event

It's Hot Hot Heat's debut UK gig and the venue's sold out. Two bars into the first song, a good half of the audience transforms into a moshpit, where it stays going strong until the end of the night. The band look very pleasantly surprised and consequently, throw themselves into a frenzied set that would make even the most hardened cool person at the back need to move.

For that is the magic of HHH; quirky rhythms and manic melodies which leave you defenseless and grinning, with Steve Bays' Robert Smith-tinged vocals gripping hold of you and dragging you along a motorway of emotions - in the fast lane, naturally - laughing. You can't help but be enthralled.

Lyrically, HHH are never anything less than brilliantly crazy. Musically, they're fresh and original, nestling comfortably between pop, rock and ska, exuding pure energy that bounces off the walls, and makes you want follow suit.

And that's even before they break into the simply brilliant pop blender that is single 'Bandages'...( a song which I cannot believe is being struck off Radio 1's playlist because of the war???!)

In any case, after seeing them play this gig, I can promise that Hot Hot Heat do exactly what they say on the tin. Go check them out. Now.

i'd strike bandages off any playlist. not because of the war, but mainly because it's shite.

Re: Hot Hot Heat - Glasgow Barfly

Naff indeed. Not like it's anyth to do with war whatsoever, and even if, that whole "sensitivity censorship" thingy is making me cringe.

I had heard a rumour that this was going to happen and now it has been
announced on the Sean Rowley show on Radio London. Sean Rowley stated
that Dexys have reformed and are going to announce a tour soon.

Sean Rowley was responsible for booking Dexys/Rowland on the Ross shows
of the 80/90's.
