Project Abner are one of those bands that can cross barriers. They can appeal to an audience from completely different backgrounds just by sheer live energy, by simply LOVING to play.
From the first note you're hit by 30-odd minutes of complete headrush. Dragged up and down and back again on an emo hardcore rollercoaster complemented with xylophone breathers, reggae guitar moments and a singing drummer that works voodoo miracles, I'm sure. The timing in these songs is not easy...
In fact listening to the songs would not be easy, what with things not following the Verse-Chorus-Verse-Chorus-Repeat scheme and instead taking little walks off to the side frequently. But everything connects up. It's as if you're tuning through a radio late at night, and find all the DJs magically in unison.
Oh and for the fun factor, pretty much everyone jumps around in this band, lots. And then the stage starts to shake a bit, and the singer falls into the drumkit, but yeah it's all good. They're loving it, and grins may not leave your face for some time after the show...
