Dontcha just love debut, secret gigs? Repairman get added to this bill at late notice due to The Fades having to cancel under unfortunate circumstances. To introduce: Repairman be a London duo playing folky, slightly Beta Band-y tunes. One is very tall and has long, floppy hair. One is shorter and wears a cap and sometimes plays drums, sometimes guitar. They both sing.
There's some keyboards'n'beats, acoustic bits then a changeover to 'proper' drums, but don't get worried about this being dodgy experimental music - there is heart and soul here, with unashamed pop melody at the bottom of it. It'll give you a warm, cozy feeling, and it totally lacks pretention.
This isn't from the Belle & Sebastian school of tweeness (well, not all the time). It certainly isn't the trend at the moment. It's more like a very big breath of fresh air.
