Tonight began with Katie Jane breathless over a glockenspiel and ended with her lone voice chanting "I only make love to Jesus, I only fuck God" before dropping the mic to the floor and leaving… In between those two heart stopping moments our heads were torn off, then caressed back onto our necks only to be guillotined a moment later, then floated on wings up into the stratosphere, then dropped into hot oil.

Fuck pragmatism, fuck common sense and sensibility, fuck industrious mediocrity, fuck the cowardice of cynicism, fuck the hordes who are 'good at what they do', fuck accessible tunes and referential plagiarists….

For today fuck them all. This was life, living, purity in pleasure, purity in anguish, the beauty in the beast, the god in the machine, a severed artery, gushing the blood of human creation to an audience sick of red paint and sterile simulation.

Queen Adreena are the real thing, and even the most finely crafted contrivances of the likes of Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love are unlikely to ever achieve that. Drop whatever it is you are doing and find them, search them out, for nights like tonight are gems in the fabric of our lives.
