65daysofstatic

65daysofstatic is currently Joe Fro, Paul Wolinski, Rob Jones and Simon Wright; Feedle, Iain Armstrong and Gareth Hughes are former members.

The band are primarily instrumental, using beats and glitches alongside crunched guitars and hardcore drums.

65days originally formed, allegedly, to try and write music to fit the unreleased and little known John Carpenter flick Stealth Bomber starring Kurt Russell. Set over "65 Days of Static", a period of time after some unknown global infrastructre and communications breakdown, it also gave 65 their name.

Apparently.

Venetian Snares

Already becoming slowly infamous for an upcoming album with girlfriend Hecate, recorded from the sounds of Mr Aaron Funk, aka Venetian Snares, and his lady, er, pretty much fucking each other's brains out!

Expect large dollops of brain-screwing drill'n'bass, occasional ambient interludes and some smart disabled beats to mess with you.

A hugely prolific artist, VSnares has released his most recent work on Planet Mu (discography below):

Venetian Snares - 'Winter In The Belly Of A Snake'
VSnares - '237 0894'
Venetian Snares - 'Higgins Ultra Low Track Glue Funk Hits 1972-2006'
Venetian Snares - 'Songs About My Cats'
Venetian Snares - 'Untitled 7"'
Venetian Snares + Speedranch - 'Making Orange Things'

Pram

First convening in Birmingham around fifteen years ago, Pram have constantly displayed the steeliness of purpose and locked together vision of outsider artists. Their discography feels like a guidebook to a set of disconcertingly familiar but remote places; and it reads like one too: Dark Island, North Pole Radio Station, The Museum of Imaginary Animals. The band’s sound is the soundtrack to these spaces: Rosie Cuckson’s lambent voice, ghosted keyboards, the rhythm as texture, all operating together to a strange heartbeat – a kind of lighthouse bulb glow.

The Moving Frontier is Pram at their most widescreen, they’ve created a mysterious and wonderful landscape that’s sky-wide open.

Growing

Grwing evolved out of two bands: Joe Denardo joined from Black Man White Man Dead man, and Kevin Doria from 1000 AD. They expanded to a trio when Eryn Ross joined the fold. Musically, think doom metal, slow... no, slower... slower still, with more drone, and no vocals, and loud as hell. Mojo say: "How does it rock? Slow, real slow."»

Rose Kemp

Just turned 21 and blessed with an impossibly rich and reaching voice, sometimes accompanied by shimmering electric guitars, sometimes looping itself into complex, sumptuous, harmonised hooks, or sometimes simply rising unadorned and a cappella to silence a room. One of the most mutable modern artists, Rose Kemp's songs and sets have earned her appearances at umpteen festivals, National Radio airplay, and support slots with such diverse acts as The Subways, Gravenhurst, James Yorkston, Selfish Cunt, King Creosote, Decoration, Malcolm Middleton and Holly Golightly.

Once you’ve heard her you’ll never forget it, her songs stick in your soul and pulse in your brain like nothing else on earth. Rose Kemp will rock your World. 2006 will see Rose release two singles and an album on One Little Indian Records: her debut album Glance came out in 2003 on Park Records.

The Berg Sans Nipple

From their Prohibited European website: "The franco-american duo BERG SANS NIPPLE consists of (but is not limited to) Lori Sean Berg and Shane Aspegren. The former is a suave Frenchman from the dirty rues of gay Parieee and the latter is a lanky Scandinavian-looking fellow who actually hails from the dusty plains of Nebraska.

Once rumored to have been Siamese twins separated at birth (according to them, their relationship is really much closer to that of Ghost Dog and the ice cream vendor), the reality is only more mundane at first glance: two kids (both best known as drummers) trapped in a tangled mess of cables, keyboards, samplers, horns, bells, machines and drums.

The 'music for the short film Marie-Madeleine' soundtrack-ep (2002) was a first glimpse into one of the directions that the duo has taken, combining textured minimalism, emancipated-rock, electronica and fluttered jazz.

The first full-length, 'form of. . .' (Prohibited records 2003) takes its shape down many different roads, managing to capture the sonic intensity and magic of the duo live while transcending even that with a rare beauty that is seldom captured on tape. Between the two of them, they have made music with Lullaby for the Working Class, Purr, Bright Eyes, Songs:Ohia, Don Nino, Dominique A., TV City. . . and many more."»
