After releasing his first EP SummerPlate in the summer of 2003 as a solo artist and moving a few months in Italy, Benni Hemm Hemm started performing with a big band. And after that performance there was no turning back.

In November 2004 the band started recording their first self-titled album which was released in September 2005 in Iceland, on Smákökurnar, then later in Japan and Germany.

In spring 2006 work started for Kajak. The album was written in a very short time, and recorded in June. The album was released in Iceland in November 2006 and in January 2007 in Europe, on Morr Music. The band have since started to tour Europe.
