Youthmovies, Pure Reason Revolution, Public Relations Exercise, twentysixfeet, Meet Me In St. Louis, Fight Fire With Water, The Siegfried Sassoon, Score One For Safety, House Of Brothers, Herra Hidro at Leicester Square, Leicester, Leices
Leicester Square is barely full – even that’s an exaggeration – when House Of Brothers begins his – for it is just one man, Andy Jackson, on stage – short but sweet set of acoustic loveliness...»

About the artists
Youthmovies
Oxford-based prog-punks Youthmovies - formerly Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies - is (2007 model):
Al English (guitar/vocals)
Graeme Murray (drums/vocals)
Stephen Hammond (bass/keys)
Andrew Mears (vocals/guitar)
Sam Scott (trumpet/flugelhorn/organ)
In their younger days Youthmovies (MySpace here) liked nothing better than getting their chests out at shows. Mmmm. They have since realised that too much flesh can be a bad thing. Truth.
The roots of the band were laid in 2002; Hope of the States' Simon Jones was initially brought in on drums, replaced by Graeme in 2004. Trumpet player Sam Scott, also of Jonquil, joined full-time in 2006.
Some people wrote some things..."Youthmovies take you on a musical journey like no other, taking elements of DC hardcore and wrapping it in the shimmering glow of bands like Do Make Say Think. They are true believers in the power of music - not as a commodity, but as a way of truly stirring the soul. Amazing stuff." - Rocksound
"Youthmovies are clever, original - and sadistically unpredictable." - Kerrang!
"Youthmovies sound like absolutely bugger-all else out there... No band in the world comes close to matching their thirst for the deranged; nobody can hold a torch to their genre-splicing glory. Prefixes come and go in their world - post, prog, whatever - but none stick. Only one simple word can successfully clamp itself to this eight-legged beast of a band as it sprints into previously unexplored musical territories: brilliant." - DrownedinSound.com
"Like a post-hardcore brainstorming session on where music should go next." - Steve Lamacq
"A genuinely scary art-metal racket." - The Independent
Video - 'The Naughtiest Girl Is A Monitor':
New single 'Naughtiest Girl Is A Monitor', available on 7" and digital download, released March 3 on Drowned in Sound Recordings.

Public Relations Exercise
Public Relations Exercise are a Leicester based 5 piece. The line up was finalised with the addition of another guitarist in September 2005, however the band have been a functional 4 piece prior to this. P.R.E's music is an intelligent mix of Post hardcore Math-rock and Screamo. Musically based around inventive rhythm's and discordant guitars, layered with penetrative vocals and poignant lyrics. The band's music has been likened to At The Drive-in and The Blood Brothers to name but a few. Having toured for the past year the band are currently back in the studio writing and recording new material set for release in 2006 on Field Records.»

Meet Me In St. Louis

Meet Me In St Louis - featuring former members of Escanna and Strobe 45 - play indie which is both beautiful AND schizophrenic, don't you know. Think Minus The Bear, American Football, Blood Brothers...
They've an EP out (released May 2006) through Function records - And with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high water mark - that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.
A debut album, Variations On Swing, was released through Big Scary Monsters in September 2007. It was produced by Alex Newport (At The Drive-In, The Pattern, Icarus Line, The Locust). The band broke up in early 2008.

Fight Fire With Water
Fight Fire With Water are:
Jack Hetherington - Guitar
James Sztuka - Guitar
Page - Bass
James Collins - Drums
Formed in 2005, Fight Fire With Water are a math rock/post rock/something rock bag of shenanigans. They're into Physics, apparently.
House Of Brothers
House Of Brothers is former Murder Of Rosa Luxemburg member Andrew Jackson, solo and primarily acoustic. Expect sweet and folksy lullabies and string-embellished indie-pop, affecting and engrossing.
A debut EP proper is due through the Big Scary Monsters in the summer of 2007. Demos are currently doing the rounds, and tracks are available at the below MySpace.

Herra Hidro
Calum Price - guitar and vocals
Jake Wright - bass and vocals
Luke Smith - drums and vocals
Herra Hidro are a new(ish) band from the Midlands, taking cues from the likes of Shellac, At The Drive-In, Biffy Clyro and Explosions In The Sky. Ish. DiS saw them one time and was proper impressed. Yes.
An EP, The Second Gold Procession And The Royal Rape Of The Sun, is out now.
