Trencher, These Arms Are Snakes, DiS DJs at London Camden Underworld, Wed 29 Nov

Review by Mike Diver

This is a team effort, for sure, but the four men of These Arms Are Snakes each go to their own special places once the first riff of each and every set they deliver rings within the ear canals of those before them. They’re like a football squad of international superstars – each individual contests for their time in focus, for their moment of virtuoso r’n’r excellence...»

Trencher

A trio of keyboard-wrecking, drum-smashing and bass-mangling punks. Some folk call it 'Casiocore'. We call it FUN FUN FUN. The band signed to Southern in 2005, and their debut for the label (second album in all), Lips, is released in November 2006.

Trencher are:
Pox - ass and tits
L. Monger - skins and bones
M. Shit - teeth and nails

These Arms Are Snakes

Born of the ashes of seminal art thrashers Botch and Minneapolis punk heroes Kill Sadie, Seattle's These Arms Are Snakes are fast-becoming an integral part of the Pacific Northwest's ever-dynamic musical fabric.

Employing sinister guitar licks mixed with equal parts snarly vocals and a pension for spaced out musical long form - has painted the buzz heavy Snakes as anything but conventional.

The band has toured endlessly, plastering both coasts with their livid live shows and with their eyes squarely focused on progressing and challenging all the current notions of hardcore, These Arms are Snakes are now poised to take their game to the next level – bringing all the passion and promise of their previous endeavors to splendid completion.

Steve Snere - vocals
Ryan Frederiksen - guitar
Brian Cook - bass/keyboards
Chris Common - drums
