My friend had a spare ticket for tonight's gig. I officially know nothing about Tom McRae so thought I'd go see what the 'fuss' was about. I say fuss but, in my small corner of the world there is no fuss. I may have heard him on something like Dream Team or another infamous yet banal television programme, but... I just couldn't be sure. Regardless, I stole a vantage point on the balcony amongst the throngs of people gathering below and all around me.
Tom McRae showed a presence this audience have pitched a great faith in. This audience quite clearly adore Tom McRae. This man could be the soundtrack to their lives. They hear him at every soft, sweeping moment in their life - like those moments in Dawson's Creek we all know and love. I'd never heard it before tonight but at the same time I realise, i had.
It was poetically heartwarming, and most definitely humbling. I'm just a little concerned Jack Frost's winter dissent has already taken too tight a grip on this cold heart for it to thaw entirely.
