Koalas are generally known for being cute cuddly little-ish marsupials that eat lots and do very little. Koala are generally known for being human, playing instruments, inhabiting pubs, jumping up and down and singing. Preferably all at the same time.

“Dum-didee-dum duh-didum duh-didum dee-dee diddly-um”, better known as Spinning Around has been given the set-list chop, to be replaced by a New Song, Fuzzy Head, that isn’t as catchy and doesn’t involve any keyboard hijacking. It does however involve a bit of jumping around, which is nice as the venue’s ceiling looks high enough to cope with a band with ants in their pants. Spinning Around wasn’t the only song to go, the closing song, Bob Wilson’s Funfair is replaced by MnaMnaMna, I’m sorry, Here’s Laughing at You. The result is a set that sounds less bubblegum poppy and slightly rockier. Whilst the layered vocals are still there, the keyboard….doesn’t seem to be working; which could explain why there doesn’t seem to be the usual trademark squelchy noises. Whatever technical difficulties they have the band make up for them in the performance. Overall they’re a Good, not a Very Good, just a Good.
