¡Forward Russia!, This Et Al, The Organ at Nottingham Bodega Social Club, Wed 30 Mar

Review by Dom Gourlay

Vancouver quintet The Organ may be playing only their second ever show on these shores, but for the effortless drop-dead f.u. attitude coming off the stage you'd be forgiven for believing they were seasoned veterans...»

Forward Russia 2008 smaller

¡Forward Russia!

Coming on like Q And Not U with more balls, Leeds-based ¡Forward, Russia! are a band that could probably sit comfortably on any bill and still cause a pleasant fuss.

2006 saw the release of their debut, Give Me A Wall, and a heavy touring schedule that took in the UK, Europe and the United States.

In 2007, the band released a one-off, hand-etched 10" record entitled 'Don't Be A Doctor, after which songs were written for their second album, recorded in Seattle with noted producer Matt Bayles.

2008 sees the release of Life Processes, a record which promises to be heavier yet with greater clarity and vision. Exciting times.

This Et Al

Rock-inspired Leeds quartet, who've drawn comparisons with Biffy and Muse amongst others. Debut album Baby Machine is due for release in 2007, having seen a limited-edition release at the back end of 2006.»
