Spread out over three rooms, we were treated to Kitty-yo regulars such as laub, Tarwater, and Peaches, as well as newies such as Maximillian Hecker, and Taylor Savvy. Add to that DJ sets from Kitty-yo DJ's, Jill Mingo, Arthur Baker, and loads more, and a 'special' night was guaranteed.
The upstairs room was kicked into action by Trash Money live, who consist of two members of Sneaker Pimps, but where their 'career' band plough out ropey trip-hop, Trash Money knock out some fantastic electronic/noisy rock with taking in covers of AC/DC classics along the way.
Whilst the downstairs room was experiencing a moment of lushness from Tarwater, upstairs was truly in the mood for partying, courtesy of a DJ set from Arthur Baker who dropped classics from New Order, into a heavily retro set of eighties electro classics, dropping in a top mix up of sixties classic Girl, I want to be with you with Peaches Set it off ensuring that the dancefloor sustains some kind of damage.
Downstairs, relative newcomer to the Kitty-Yo stable, Taylor Savvy got the London crowd to choose what tie he should wear for his performance, before treating them to some sleazy electro-funk, and setting the scene nicely for tonights headliner Peaches.
The Peaches set realy should have been listed as Peaches and friends. Because this was a special night, Peaches bought along some special freinds, Cobra Killer.
The set was pretty much 'The Teaches of Peaches' in its entirety, as well as numerous appearances from Cobra Killer, who dropped a load of new tunes that took a harder edge from the tracks on their debut eponymous album.
When Peaches returned after quite a few Cobra Killer interludes, it was to play some new tracks, one of which involved a fantastic dance with a strap on dildo, much to the horror of a photographer, whom had got on stage to fulfill some of his proffesional duties, only to become part of the show.
To top the evening off, we got Peaches, Cobra Killer, and Taylor Savvy, onstage together, thowing out a mix of sleazy electro punk rap, whilst Cobra Killer's Gina V. D'orio and Annika Trost joined Peaches in a heavy bout of stagediving whilst Taylor Savvy showered the audience with fire extinguisher, cardboard boxes, fake blood and possibly the best night London has seen for YEARS!! Yes, I may have suffered a cut mouth from the madness, and maybe a Cobra Killer boot, but it would be very hard to let that spoil a fantastic night out.
Kitty-Yo did themselves proud. Everyone who wanted to be there but couldn't will have to kick themselves for a long time, whilst anyone who didn't want to be there will have to put up with being bored stupid with tales of what a great night they missed out on.
