Kentish Town Verge
Info
Capacity: 150 (estimate)
Nearest tubes: Camden or Kentish Town
About 5-10 minute walk from either tube station.
Not one of the best toilet venues but is used by many different promoters.
The sound is often shit and ear-bleeding. There is a fucking stupid POLE right in the middle of the stage.
The venue does, however, have potential to be better.
Drinks prices are reasonable - eg. £2.50 for a pint (non-Londoners note: this is good).

After Suburbia, Hinterland, Junk Puppets at London Kentish Town Verge, Thu 05 Jul
It's a rainy night in North London, and a crowd of A+R people have assembled to take in some new talent. The venue, The Verge, is small and the sound veers between acceptable and appalling, but it's a cosy enough location.
Junk Puppets take the stage first. They're in the unenviable position of playin»
Riviera F, Breather, Vic Twenty at London Kentish Town Verge, Sat 05 Jan
It is 9pm in North London, and tucked away from the chilly metropolis are a steady trickle of electro-pop enthusiasts, come to dance to undanceable tracks from the Ladytron and Pulp albums. Both apt, since Riviera are offering up a mixture of pingy keyboards, muttering and crunchy guitar. The venue’s sound is dr»
Tartrazine, Fosca, The Empty Vessels, Keith Adams at Kentish Town Verge, Camden Town, Sat 12 Jan
I'm a very impressionable person. An Indiecent Exposure night. Not a concert, gig or whatever, but an experience, something you live through, hopefully. Tonite held the promise of four acts, Smallworld having pulled out days earlier being replaced by not one, b»
Oceansize at London Kentish Town Verge, Tue 26 Mar
Everyone knows that there is a day coming sometime in the future. Some might say ”Come the revolution”. Some prefer to shout “FIDDLESTICKS!!!” Either way, that day isn’t too far away. ’WHY’ I hear you cry? It’s because of OCEANSiZE. And I knew they were coming. I could taste it in the air a»
Douglas, Red Animal War, Jerry-Built, Losone at Kentish Town Verge, Camden Town, Mon 08 Apr
This being my first foray into the land of Jerry-Built, I was impressed with what I heard. Ultra melodic, two singers feeding off each other, slightly vicious sounding guitars … I like it. There’s also evidence of a large fanbase who fill up the room nicely, which I’m not gonna argue with. I wasn’t going to ment»
Sufferkiss at London Kentish Town Verge, Tue 30 Jul
The Verge is unusually busy for a Tuesday night, and every available surface seems to be covered in flyers. The underground vibe is somewhat ruined by the hapless DJ's choice of top 40 "alternative" releases from the the past few months yet there is a strange anticipation when Sufferkiss take to the stage»
Beezewax, K-Line, Thinktank at London Kentish Town Verge, Thu 13 Mar
Since receiving their awe-inspiring 2001 album ‘Oh Tahoe’ I’ve held nothing but venerate admiration for Norway’s Beezewax. Their tender, heartfelt approach to emo is a breath of fresh air in an increasingly bland scene and though worthy of comparisons to an emo Teenage Fanclub Beezewax most »
Wry, Houston 500, The Creeps at London Kentish Town Verge, Fri 06 Jun
There’s a bloody big pole in the middle of the stage. What sort of entertainment was this pub built for? Not scruffy guitar-wielding urchins, I’ll wager… The Creeps are already in full swing when we duck in out of the rain. I didn’t see any pole dancing up there, so I’m gonna have to deduct some points.»
