Barsuk
Location: Seattle, Washington State
Type: small indie
Link: Barsuk - Label Site
Named after one very special dog indeed, Barsuk plays host to some of Seattle's finest exports and much more besides. The faithful home of indie-rock troubadours Death Cab For Cutie, classic pop merchants The Long Winters and producing powerhouse and Tiny Telephone Studios owner, John Vanderslice, Barsuk has also put out stellar releases from They Might Be Giants, Rilo Kiley and The Dismemberment Plan's Travis Morrison. Impressive, huh?
Oh and by the way, Barsuk is a Russian word meaning 'Badger'. It's pronounced barSOOK.
