The Selecter were formed in 1979 and released two albums : Too Much Pressure and Celebrate The Bullet. They split in 1982.

The Selecter are currently writing new material for their 7th studio album, due for release Autumn 2006, to co-incide with their U.S. tour.

After a career in TV and theatre, Pauline Black reformed The Selecter in 1991 and has released several new albums.
