Lead singer Dan Whitehouse and guitarist Greg Lake were 16 when they met at college in ’96, while Dan was playing guitar for British female artist Naomi (‘Liquid’ – Gut Records, 1999).

Chris Beard (bass) and Dan Griffiths (drums) completed the line up in March 2000, forming the band and have spent the last two years writing and playing live shows.

Originating from the West Midlands (UK) Sonara have developed a loyal fan-base, supporting acts such as Dum Dums, Supernaturals, Joseph Arthur, Paddy Casey and undertaking a UK tour with Four Star Mary (under their former name ‘Whitehouse’).

Songs soaked in melody, intense lyrics and a breathtaking live performance, provide the basis for a sound that transcends expectations of a young rock band.

Lead singer and wordsmith Dan writes in a refreshingly honest manner, with lyrics drawing on personal experience and social awareness; wrapped in a trend-free, alt. rock sound.
