Portishead

Portishead are one of the founders, if you will, of trip-hop; a merging of hip-hop and ambient beats associated with an assortment of Bristol-area musicians (see also: Massive Attack, Tricky, Alpha). The trio - Geoff Barrow, Adrian Utley and Beth Gibbons - formed in 1991 and to date (March 2008) have released two studio albums and a live LP; their third album, Third, is released in April 2008.
