Music news these days can be kind of impossible to keep up with. It seems to be this constant scream of information, unintelligible by the sheer speed that it shoots by at, often borderline unintelligible in the first place – “what was that thumping past like an Olympic air defence missile about the one out of The Vaccines' twitpics from his holiday in Marbella again?” - and that being the case, DiS recently took the move to step away from news lest we're all sucked into some gaping cyber abyss of rumours, get-there-first reporting and regurgitated press releases.

Erased Tapes labelmates Nils Frahm and Peter Broderick have collaborated to form Oliveray, with the reason for the name being the pair's middle names are Oliver and Ray. So yeah, it makes sense. Their first release is an eight-track collection entitled Wonders, which is available from December 12. »

Today Peter Broderick releases a 7" of 'Old Time / Solace In Gala' through Erased Tapes, a label which may well have had their finest year to date, with some truly fantastic releases in 2011. He also releases Music for Confluence - which this single is taken from - on November 28, adding another engaging and captivating full-length record to his CV. Erased Tapes Records are spoiling us this year. We've already had the magnificent and recommended A Winged Victory For The Sullen album and Nils Frahm has a cracker on the way too, in Felt. We may also have to add a third record to their instrumental wonders this year, as Peter Broderick is releasing Music For Confluence through the Berlin-based label on November 28.»
