Joseph Arthur

US singer-songwriter, who uses a myriad of loops, effects pedals and samplers to turn a one-man show into an atmospheric masterpiece. Signed to Peter Gabriel's RealWorld imprint, when Gabriel came to one of Joseph's shows he bought none other than Lou Reed. Chronically short on self-esteem, and nervous at the best of times, Arthur approached his two idols "with all the grace of a duck on fire".
