Hello! November has been quite busy hasn't it? Lots of records sneaking out before the year is out... and all the while we've been distracted at DiS HQ trying to work out what our albums of the year will be. Our countdown begins on Monday, but before all that, here's what we/I've been blasting at DiS HQ this month...»

Ever wondered what music the people who post on the DiS boards are into? Us too. We've always thought about doing some sort of poll-of-polls, and then - as is often the way with DiS - a member of the community took it upon themselves to start one. The results of which were revealed on the boards too but right here, right now, we can reveal far more than the top 20.»

If you'd like to get an email from us every six-eight months, with a gentle reminder that we exist and a summary of anything you might have missed, then plonk your email address in this box. »

Interpol have confirmed another London date for their forthcoming European tour, at the end of September. They'll play London's Heaven on September 15, which will kick off the tour. Tickets are priced at £30 standard and a bargain £32.50 if you want to get the album as well. Really, for the extra £2.50 you'd be silly not to. I'd go as far as to say idiotic. »

It may be an uncommon tactic, but Interpol's new and fourth album will be self-titled. We were told earlier in the year that the release date for it would be the week of September 13 but that's all changed now. Well, not all changed, but at least put forward by a week so the release date is September 7 in the US. »
