Biography

Introduction

Her Name is Calla are a post-rock band based in Leicester, Leeds and York in England.

History

After playing live all over the United Kingdom to much critical acclaim with the likes of iLiKETRAiNS and The Twilight Sad, they released their debut album, The Heritage in 2008, which was also positively received, and was followed by a well-received co-headlining tour with Glissando. The album lasts over 50 minutes, despite only containing six tracks.

In February 2009, they announced their joining with the German label Denovali Records. Denovali are to re-release the bands first album, 'The Heritage', on vinyl later in 2009. In April, the band announced they were underway with their next record entitled 'The Quiet Lamb' to be released through Gizeh (UK) and Denovali (Europe, Japan, USA) jointly. A tour of the UK and Europe was also announced for August 2009.

The band played their first show in six months in April 2009 alongside Jeniferever and Kyte at The Luminaire in London.
