Gorgoroth is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, Norway. The band was founded in 1992 by Infernus (who's also the only original member remaining), and the name was derived from J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings in which Gorgoroth is a dead plateau of evil and darkness in the land of Mordor.
