Gemma Hayes

Irish singer/songwriter Gemma Hayes has built up a loyal following while touring with the likes of David Gray and Sparklehorse. One of eight siblings, Hayes grew up in the wilds of Ireland in a small village near Tipperary. She dropped out of university to become a full-time musician, signing to Source Records in 2001. An acclaimed EP, '4:35 AM', appeared later that year, introducing listeners to her unusual blend of acoustica and noise pop. The full length, Night On My Side, followed a year later. Tom Edwards
