Watch + Listen: New track from Florence + The Machine
If there's one thing I admire Florence + The Machine for it's for using "+" to symbolise "and" rather than the more commonly used ampersand (&). That kind of typographical daring is to be commended. It is now time to hear something new from Miss Welch. A new track. Presumably taken from her new album or something. It's called 'What The Water Gave Me' and you can watch the video for it here. It is quite funny, in a way.»
Somerset House announce Summer Series headliners
London's lovely setting of Somerset House have announced the first lot of headliners for their Summer Series, which takes place over the course of 10 or so days in July this year. It's not as good as last year, in all honesty, but still worth a quick gander, like.»
Belle & Sebastian, The National, Grizzly Bear for Latitude 2010
The initial batch of headliners for this year's 2010 Latitude Festival has been announced and...it's pretty good all in all. Headlining the Obelisk Arena, which is the main stage, over the course of three days will be Florence + The Machine, Belle & Sebastian and Vampire Weekend. Just marginally underneath those three on the bill for that stage are Empire Of The Sun, The Maccabees and fast-fingered duo Rodrigo Y Gabriela.»
Gang Gang Dance speak about 'Florencegate', hope to win $$$
Late last month we reported that US act Gang Gang Dance asked Florence + The Machine for royalties, due to the absolutely ridiculous similarities between the GGD song 'House Jam' and Flo's 'Rabbit Heart'. They got them. It sounded like Florence had completely ripped them off, in all honesty, something they obviously weren't best pleased with. »
