Last weekend's Bowlie 2 weekender at Butlin's in Minehead was quite fantastic. One of the undoubted highlights was Edwyn Collins' performance on Centre Stage on Saturday afternoon, with Teenage Fanclub as his backing band. A couple of other co-stars appeared too, including Alex Kapranos and Nick McCarthy of Franz Ferdinand. Again, it was brilliant.»

I'm sure we're all familiar with the backstory of former Orange Juice frontman Edwyn Collins by now. In some ways it is as heartening as it is sad. After suffering a brain haemorrhage in 2005 he has been gradually treading the road to recovery and performing again, which he now is. It's massively pleasing that he's back on stage once more, I'm sure everybody will agree and even more pleasing that there's new material on the way.»

Scottish pop-star and all-round nice geezer Edwyn Collins has been prohibited from streaming HIS OWN SONG on social network/music website MySpace, owned by the evil media overlord that is Sir Rupert of Murdoch. The website apparently weren't too convinced by Collins' argument that he, the songwriter and performer, owned the rights to 'A Girl Like You', The Guardian reports.»
