Biography

Introduction

Ane Brun (IPA æn? brun), real name Ane Brunvoll (born 10 March 1976), is a Norwegian singer/songwriter, born and raised in Molde, Norway. She lives in Stockholm, Sweden. She co-runs a record company, DetErMine Records ("It is my" in Norwegian), alongside Ellekari Larsson of The Tiny.

After a few years of numerous live stints in Sweden and Norway and several non-official EP releases her first official album, Spending Time with Morgan, was released at the end of May 2003 in Scandinavia, and in various European countries in the autumn of 2003. The album was released via DetErMineRecords which is licensed to V2 Music for USA distribution.

History

Ane started her musical career fairly late. It wasn't until she had turned 21 she took up acoustic guitar. Her first official live appearances were in 1998 on the streets of Barcelona and San Sebastian.

After moving to Bergen she started composing her own material and joined the Norwegian band Damsels in Distress. In 2000 Ane moved to Stockholm and began making a living performing live music. She has worked together with several other artists, such as Norwegian popgroup a-ha, Ron Sexsmith, Madrugada and Koop.

Ane Brun's cover version of "True Colors" was featured in an advert for Sky+ HD.

Ane Brun's song 'Lullaby For Grown-Ups' was featured in an advert advertising Channel 4's Horror Season.

Ane Brun lends vocals in the song, "Innan Du Gar" from Theresa Andersson's "Hummingbird, Go!" album.
