a list of the 25 highest-paid professional footballers in England...
As you know, i don't really follow Premier League football nowadays (or MoneyBall as i call it!), but i do still retain a passing interest in the financial side of the game, largely thanks to reading excellent blogs like the Swiss Ramble.
Anyway, this is a list of the 25 best-paid players in England currently. All figures are a *estimated* basic weekly wage and don't include bonusses, sponsorships, etc. Thought it might be of interest...or maybe not.

I suppose we shoudn't be at all surprised that so many, in fact all bar three (Carroll, Adebayor and Gerrard) play for the title challengers, but some of the names on the list (Carroll, Kolo Toure for instance) literally get paid a fucking fortune for doing sod all. *Footballers in getting paid a lot shocker* etc, etc.
Anyway, i'm sure this will remain a grow-up conversation and not quickly lead to fans of the mentioned clubs getting all insecure about someone in a suit who they don't know paying someone in shorts who they don't know lots of money for kicking a bag of air. I just find the figures involved staggering, and a bit sad, truth be told.
