Here, in 2 minutes, is why Boris Johnson is a better representative for London than Ken Livingstone.
Imagine this speech,to this audience, being given by Livingstone:

Just imagine it!
*Adopts nasal voice* "Weeeeeeeh. Well done London. These Games have seen a 17.3 per cent rise in council tax revenues. The Greater London Authority has managed to decrease blah blah blah... social justice in London in some of our most deprived areas blah blah blah..."
It would be so bland, so boring, so unexiciting, and un-engaging.
Just listen to how the people respond to Boris. They chant his name! Would Ken ever have his name sung in unison by such a large audience of the general public? Of course not! For an elected politician in Britain to be able to get that kind of reaction at an open event is something pretty special I reckon.
Yeah, you'll all get on your high horses about how the public are idiots etc etc, but what do I care. I'll just sit back and have a little smirk on my face knowing that you're going to see his face everywhere during the Olympics, and that you're going to be hearing his voice giving you directions every time you get the tube through central London. Enjoy your anger, chumps! Whilst you're seething with anger and having little cries on the internet about it, Boris will be going to loads of Olympics events that you bellsniffs couldn't get tickets to.
Boris was the Mayor that London needed to welcome the world. Thank Christ Ken lost the election.
Hmmm, interesting...
