Thursday Football Thread: Back to Reality
So after the past few days' distraction of a rather enjoyable Euro 2012, we're all brutally reminded of what really matters with the sacking of Henry James Redknapp. Feel a lot like I did when Juande Ramos went, to be honest, i.e. crying. Not that either was a bad decision, it's just all so messy. We can't keep anything clean.
God knows where we go from here. Would quite like to see us give Andre Villas-Boas another shot at English football, although I'm not entirely sure why. A return for Juergen would be the one I'd really celebrate, but again, not a preference entirely rooted in pragmatism. My main concern right now is the deal for Vertonghen falling through. Hope that doesn't happen.

Robin van Persie's newly acquired inability to finish and the Dutch's collective inability to defend leaves either Holland or the Netherlands on the brink, although not really actually, because a win against Portugal could somewhat bizarrely be enough to see them through.
Cristiano Ronaldo also apparently leaves his shooting boots at home (maybe he's just not that good?), but Portugal still manage to overcome a battling (quotation marks omitted for fear of ballsing up the thread) Denmark, thanks in part to born goalscorer, Helder Postiga.
