Running advice
Now, i'm no stranger to fitness - in particular running, but I was chugging along on the old treadmill today and I realised that my gait is smaller on the treadmill that it is in the fields or on the running track.
Do any runners here (colinzealuk, pickledoeuf et al) find that their gait is different on the machine than outside? This is important, because running style is important and if you're practicing different ones then it isn't as productive.
Is there a way to change your gait, but keep the same running times? My gait is longer outside and whilst that means I sometimes get quicker times in my 5k oddly enough, it seems to take a hell of a lot more out of me.
Current running times are at 13.1k in 60 minutes on the treadmill
10k in 44 on the running track but it hurt my back a lot more here than that treadmill run did.
These are both recent records from the last couple of weeks.
