A fascinating question about trains and peak time stuff
So last night I bought an off-peak return ticket to take me between place A and Z. My understanding was that peak time ended at 6.30pm, so I could get any train after that. But standing on the platform, I though, screw it (LIKE JAMES DEAN) and got on one at 6.24pm.
My question is, if a ticket inspector had seen my ticket after 6.30pm, I would be travelling off-peak, BUT they would have known I got on before then and therefore broke the rules. So, could they do me for that? Would they bother?
