Thursday Gaming Thread (tomorrow's thread... today!)
Obviously Mass Effect 3 is the big gaming new this week as loads and loads of people bought it, some complained about it a lot and some didn't. Want to talk ME3? There's a thread for that here: http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/social/4331613
From an epic story based game to one with no story whatsoever now. See that shiny mountain over there? Get to it. PSN game Journey is out and is an absolute bloody marvel, an absolute beautiful joy of a game from the people behind Flower. If you enjoy the work of Team ICO (and if you don't, get out of my thread) you should love this.
More next gen rumours as people suggest the new Xbox will use flash cards instead of discs. If true that's backwards compatibility out of the window, as well as scuppering anyone using it as a dvd player. But will it still support my HD-DVD drive?
Microsoft sign up former Sony man Phil Harrison, while apparently not a replacement for departing Peter Molyneux its reassuring to no that he is no stranger to talking complete tosh.
GAME have a super-emergency-panic-fire-sale, sorry 'Spring Clean'. It probably won't help much as most people seem to be just desperately getting rid of game points/gift card credit rather than actual money - anyonw get any good bargains? Needless to say they won't be stocking the new Resident Evil or Ninja Gaiden, which shouldn't be a problem as I'd expect them to be out of business by the end of next week.
Out this week: FIFA Street, Twisted Metal, Yakuza: Dead Souls, BIT.TRIP COMPLETE/SAGA, Birds Of Steel, Ben 10: Galactic Racing
Played this week:
Mass Effect 2 - forgot how creppy the Overlord dlc was, good stuff
Gears of War 3 - nearly done with this, having a blast
SSX - good game, just something not quite right about it
Motorstorm Apocalypse - stupid fun
Grand Slam Tennis 2 - good game, too easy, John McEnroe's getting quite annoying
Jak & Daxter - 10 years on and still remember where all the power cells are, not sure this is a good thing
