Paris
Pretty sure I only ever start "tell me stuff" threads on DiS, but you can forgive me for this one because it's probably the most amazing thing ever.
Super Junior are doing Super Show 4 in Paris, very kindly giving non-French fans less than a month to arrange stuff :-\
Anyhow, apparently at 23, the 'it'll be my next ten birthday/christmas presents' still works if you can make yourself cry, and I can, so yay. Okay, I don't think the tears were fake, but for my credibility I should probably pretend they were.
Anyhow, aside from OMG YAY I'M (PROBABLY) GOING TO SEE SUPER JUNIOR...
1) Has anyone traveled by coach to Paris (or similar distance). Ah, I'm going from York. The Eurolines coach is £88 return which seems a lot cheaper than plane tickets, but last time I did a long coach journey was German exchange and there was a ferry journey and stuff to break it up. Also, I can't remember it. Is it worth paying considerably more to fly? Any experience of Eurolines in particular?
2) Does anyone know of any 24hr places in Paris where you can get away with sleeping? I've been looking at hostels etc and the ones that still have beds are about £30. I'd probably have to be there 2 nights, and I can't afford that. Essentially, somewhere with benches, or chairs, or walls where you won't get thrown out for sleeping / be attacked? And that doesn't cost much to get to? And that has nearby bathrooms for changing / vague attempts at washing?
3) Anyone been to the Zenith before? From the looks of it, the standing tickets are going to be a lot cheaper, but I'm short, and there'll be people queuing up for days, probably, which I would do, but I can't. Will it be okay to see the stage if you're short and near the back and there's lots of flailing arms?
4) Is getting around Paris expensive? I don't really need to do much, other than get from the coach station or airport, to somewhere to sleep, and to the Zenith, I guess.
5) But given I'm going to be in Paris, I might as well do something. I'll probably only have a few hours spare. Maybe another couple of hours very early morning. So, essentially, if I can only do ONE THING in Paris (note: something that doesn't cost) what should it be? The free time should be from about 4 or 5 in the afternoon, until whatever in the evening, and then maybe a couple of hours the following morning.
Just thinking about the reality, this is going to be so stressful... I'm not sure if I'm actually going to be able to do it. If I can't go into town without freaking out, Paris probably isn't going to work out too well. I guess we'll find out...
