end-of-year football spin-off thread #43: how do you see everything going over the rest of the season?
In terms of how your own side will do, how leagues will pan out, cup winners, relegations, sackings, big transfers, etc, etc?
Could've probably just done this instead of the Top Six predictions one, innit? Ach, well, ignore that.
United continue to win playing awful football, City have an existentialist crisis over January/early Feb, but recover towards the end of the season, Big Red winning the title by a handful of points to become the second worst Premier League champions ever (after themselves last season), City ten points ahead of third-placed Spurs, Arsenal pipping Chelsea to 4th on the final day.
Blackburn get their shit together and rise to the heady heights of 11th. The real three worst sides in the league - Bolton, QPR and Aston Villa go down, the latter failing to recover from Darren Bent's £29m January transfer to Liverpool.
Liverpool complete an unlikely cup double, beating a heroic Palace in the tiddly League Cup Final, before avoiding Premier League opposition throughout their FA Cup run all the way to the final, where they have Chelsea's pants down again, masking their horrendous 7th-place league finish.
Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich in their own stadium to lift their 10th European Cup. Both remaining English sides succumbing to Spanish opposition in the quarters.
Both Manchester giants purposely exit the Europa League at the first possible opportunity. Some Russian side beats Stoke in the final. No-one's really that bothered.
The current top two in the Championship unravel over the second half of the season, and Tony Mowbray & Nick Barmby guide Boro and Hull back to the big league. Leeds lose the play-off final heavily, to Eddie Howe's Burnley. Dom Gourlay's Notts Forest return to their spiritual home, League One.
Charlton breeze League One, Danny Wilson leads his beloved Sheffield United back to the Championship. Huddersfield lose in the play-offs again, this time to MK Dons, who delight the purists with another promotion.
PSG, Crawley and Fleetwood to do New Money Clique proud by winning their respective titles, with Malaga clinching a Champions League spot in La Liga.
Robin van Persie agrees summer transfer to Manchester City. Luis Suarez does a Tevez to force a move to sunny Spain, United pay £20m for Cheick Tiote, Chelsea swap Fernando Torres + cash for Falcao, Gareth Bale somehow ends up at Real Madrid for the best part of £30m.
At Euro 2012, England don't make it past the group stage, drawing all three games. Germany go on to lift the trophy. Capello sails off into the sun, the tabloids four-year campaign to get Harry the England job pays off, Spurs appoint David Moyes.
Shoot...
